Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of locating the piano she had in her attic and being awed by the music it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to pursue music for a hobby or profession. Her first step was to compose the songs she wrote herself. Her influences include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her affinity with Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not in order to be famous, but to inspire others to realize just how important that they are, and the impact they can do for the world. She started playing piano when she was six years old and started making music at the age of nine. It wasn't known to her family about it until she reached fourteen. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. Her words say that she is a fan of writing songs. Music is for her the best method to express anything.
